Minister of Social Affairs
Tanel Kiik was born on January 23, 1989, in Tallinn. He graduated from Kadriorg German Gymnasium, then from the University of Tartu Pärnu College majoring in business and project management and began his Master’s studies in 2016 at the Johan Skytte Institute for Political Studies at the University of Tartu.
Tanel Kiik has been the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Estonia since April 29, 2019, and the Deputy Chairman of the Estonian Center Party (Keskerakond). In 2007–2009, Kiik was the rapporteur and information specialist of the Estonian Center Party. In 2010-2012, Kiik was a sales partner of RE / MAX Professionals real estate and in 2010-2016 a member of the management board of the real estate company OÜ Home for You. In 2012-2016, Kiik was an advisor to the Deputy Speaker of the Riigikogu Jüri Ratas.
In 2016–2019, Kiik was the head of the Prime Minister’s Office at the State Chancellery. Kiik has been a member of the Estonian Austerity Association since 2007.
